On 12th November, 1954, Pop Pius XII established the Catholic Diocese
of Bunbury and appointed Bishop Lancelot John Goody the first Bishop of
Bunbury. The Most Reverend Myles McKeon became the second Bishop of
Bunbury in 1969, but was forced to retire due to ill health after 13
years. Bishop Peter Quinn came to Bunbury in 1982, and guided the
Diocese until 2001. Bishop Gerard Holohan has lead the Diocese since
that time.

...ordained a Bishop 27 August 1969 at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth. After
13 years as Auxiliary in Perth, Bishop Quinn was installed as Bishop of
Bunbury on the 4 August 1982.
