 Bishop Peter Quinn, the third Bishop of Bunbury, was born in Highgate Hill, Perth WA 17 February 1928 to Aileen and Jerry Quinn from County Cork Ireland. He grew up in a family of five, four boys and one girl. He was educated at Sacred Heart Primary School and then by the Christian Brothers. Bishop Quinn was one of the 20 Foundation students when St Charles Seminary opened in February 1942. He went on to study in Rome at the Propaganda Fide College in 1947, and was ordained a priest 21 December 1950 at the age of 22. He was ordained a Bishop 27 August 1969 at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth. After 13 years as Auxiliary in Perth, Bishop Quinn was installed as Bishop of Bunbury on the 4 August 1982.
