The Catechists Service provides the following formation opportunities.
An Initial Formation Course consisting of 18 sessions - Over all, the sessions are made up of two components:

1.    A personal faith development segment, which raises awareness of current teachings and practices within the Church.

2.    Practical sessions which follows and explains the teaching programme. Participants are introduced to current practices in the teaching/learning process, stages of development, strategies for group management and available resources.
There will be opportunities for ongoing formation in the areas of theology, scripture, religious education and spirituality.

Meetings and prayer days will be provided for catechists throughout the year . These are opportunities for catechists to take time out for their own spiritual growth.
