Tornado mortally damaged the Cathedral and severely damages Parish House.

June 2005

Pope Benedict XVI expresses his sympathy for the people of Bunbury for the loss of the Cathedral, and imparts his Apostolic Blessing

July 2005

Cathedral demolished and $4.1 million insurance payout received.

August 2005

The Most Reverend Gerard J Holohan consults parishioners and the wider community on the new Cathedral.

August 2005

Liturgical Consultant appointed.

September, 2005

Surveyor commissioned to undertake a Feature Site survey of the Bunbury precinct.

October 2005

Town Planner commissioned to undertake a Site Analysis of the precinct

November 2005

Three Architects commissioned to develop conceptual Master Plans of the precinct

December 2005

Consultation meetings with Bunbury parishioners held on the future Cathedral. Work begins on developing a draft architectural brief.

Marcus Collins appointed architect of the new Cathedral
